Recreation board meeting notes: 24.10.07
A Quincy Votes! member attended this meeting. While care has been taken in their creation, these notes are not official meeting minutes and may contain errors or omissions.
Meeting chaired by Rec Director Chris Rooney.
Highlight of the meeting (in New Business):
Free public ice skating rink is moving to 1 Chestnut in Quincy Center. Want to get it open before Christmas week. City is doing the site work. Rec Department will do staffing. Same company, in bid we asked for better skate sharpener. Have donated skates. No plan right now for pop-up shops for refreshments. (Kilroy Square has pop-ups during Christmas season). Maybe high school booster clubs might want to do something on weekends. Would still need a permit. (Cocoa, hot dog, keep it simple.) Connie will reach out to mayor's office first to confirm it's ok, then high school booster clubs.
